Ahmed Hamdy Moustafa
PhD student
I am a PhD student at the University of Bern, supported by a Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship (ESKAS). I joined Abriel’s Group to identify novel cystic fibrosis variants in African populations and perform functional characterization of these variants, with the goal of contributing to innovative therapeutic strategies. I completed my Master’s degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology, with a focus on cardioprotection and the treatment of hypertension and hypertensive emergencies. My research is driven by a passion for translational science, bridging molecular insights with clinical applications.
Outside the lab, I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring nature, and running. I also have a keen interest in reading and watching movies.
